This page is intended for current participants in the SilverCloud Research Study through NYU Langone and Northwell Health.

1. How do I contact the study team?

​

If you are having issues with the app or have any questions about the study, please contact us. You can email us at ImpactLab @ nyulangone.org.

2. How do I contact my coach? 

​​

Your coach is a licensed mental health clinician who's role is to support your progress on SilverCloud. They will review your progress and provide recommendations of content to interact with. 

​

If you have questions about content in the app or want to talk to your coach, you can contact them through the SilverCloud app. To do this, open the SilverCloud app, click on the Coach Tab, and click Send Message.

​3. I was told I am in treatment-as-usual (TAU). What is that? 

​

Participants in treatment-as-usual, also known as TAU, will have access to mental health services by licensed, master’s level mental health providers. If you are randomized to TAU, you will be contacted and provided with information about how to make an appointment. This is the same procedure that is typically used when students seek treatment for mental health concerns. Treatment is initiated once you complete an intake appointment.

If you are assigned to receive TAU, you may choose to access SilverCloud once your participation in the study is complete; however, you will not have access to SilverCloud during your participation.

4. How do I set up SilverCloud on my phone?

5. I lost my password, what should I do?

​

You can receive your username by email and/or reset your password here on the SilverCloud website. You will need your email to do this.

6. How much will I get paid? When will I get paid?

​

Participants will be paid using Amazon gift cards after they complete the baseline or end of study survey, or the qualitative interview. Generally, payments will be distributed via email within 48 hours of survey completion. 

 

Here is the participant payment schedule:

  • Baseline survey: $20

  • End of study survey: $20

  • Qualitative interview (if selected): $20

7. How do Amazon gift cards work?

​​​

You will receive Amazon gift cards as claim codes sent via email from someone on the study team. The gift cards can be redeemed by copying the claim code received and entering it in your Amazon account. For additional instructions, please click here

The claim codes will be a combination of letters and numbers. They will look something like this: ABCD-EFGHIJ-KLMN

8. Where can I find more information about SilverCloud?

​​

SilverCloud is a smartphone-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) app that supports young people who might be experiencing feelings of low mood or anxiety. The program is self-guided, but all participants are supported by a licensed mental health clinician, referred to as a coach. On SilverCloud, participants will learn about anxiety and depression and have the opportunity to complete activities designed to reduce their negative thoughts and feelings.
